What a Caper!

This weekend I was in my first horse show in I think 15 years. I rode a horse named Caper (What a Caper is his show name) and he's an 18 year old American Saddlebred.

Caper is an old man, but he loves to show. As he's rocketing through the in gate, you can feel his energy surge, he gets his head set, and you're in for a fun ride.

I won both of my classes: A showmanship class and an equitation class.

It was a great weekend!

  1. If you don't know that Kat was awesome in the horse show ... then you need awesome lessons.

  2. Yes, Kat is great. But that music is seriously awesome.

  3. Tammy, I was seriously jealous when the junior exhibitor showmanship class got to rock out to "Billie Jean" and I got some kind of weird intermission music. I didn't notice it at the time -- too busy remembering to post -- but when I watch the video I feel gypped.

  4. Kat, you look super relaxed in the saddle! And your handling of Caper superb! Good job! (and I couldn't hear the music, but I could see your smile was bright enough to kick ass). Very smooth.

  5. That's great Kat. Nice equitating. Next you need to work on your barrel racing skills to prepare yourself for your move to Nebraska.

  6. Ha ha! You jest! However, I am not opposed to such a move. Keith says they won't let us have chickens though. What's the point of moving to nowhere if you can't have you own backyard chicken!

  7. I am a Nebraskan so I know horses and saddles and stuff; but I was bad at math so what's an "equitation"? Horses, chickens, pigs, bucket calves, rams, ewes, gilts, barrows, you CAN have it all in NE--so come on down(er, UP!!!)
